Gone With the Wind?

Hurricane season, which starts this June, goes hand in hand with wind damage. Each year, the United States experiences billions of dollars in damage from localized storms, even in places where hurricanes don’t happen. Included below are a few helpful tips for Lincoln homeowners to minimize the damage caused by a storm:

  •          Find any items that can come loose or blow away in high winds and make sure they are secured. This includes patio furniture, trash cans, tools, toys, and portable grills.
  •          Make sure gates are closed securely and repair any broken fence boards.
  •          Check trees for unhealthy branches or overhanging the house and have those branches removed.
  •          Repair all loose roof siding, shutters, and shingles.
  •          Inspect the garage door and make sure it’s sound and in good condition.
